Another commission I did this month was for a friend of Brian's beloved Auntie Sue :) She, Uncle Gary and cousin Ricky were here for a visit and she took lots of pictures and showed them to her friend - who contacted me to make a painting of her wonderful dogs, Godfrey and Irene! I wanted to capture their personalities as well as make the colors "pop", as requested by the client. To do that I under painted Godfrey (the white dog in front) with yellows and golds (he has a heart of gold) and under painted the snow in blues and lavenders - the compliment to the yellows and golds. I drew a red outline around Irene to help her stand out as having a vibrant bright personality! Look closely at her face and you can see she is smiling :)
