I love painting this pair of horses. You will see them throughout my body of work. What they represent to me is a symbol of freedom and strength - the still wild spirit of west. I also see horses as being very loving and familial, connected to their herd and mates, roaming the southwest. The plight of the mustangs have been in the news a lot lately, and it saddens me the way they have been mistreated.
