These were begun as sketches on a fun road trip last October with my friend Kathy D. who graciously drove me around to scenic areas! I did a whole sketchbook of blind contour sketches along the drive and while visiting Acoma pueblo, Laguna pueblo, Chaco Canyon and interesting little towns along the way. This is the flat mesa plains outside Taos, with Taos mountain in the distance. It was a sublime evening, with these beautiful clouds floating off into the sunset distance,while subtle shadows danced around the sage on the mesa.
