I painted these first two paintings from my watercolor sketches on a trip last summer to the Canadian Rockies. We took the Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Jasper, then traveled down the ice fields parkway to Lake Louise and Banff, then ended in Calgary. It was a trip of a lifetime! Unfortuneately the fires in Washington state blew into Alberta and the whole trip was smoked out by the haze. I had to use other peoples photos to really get some of the color and images that I could not see.
