This is the second and larger version of a village along the Rio Grande, the orchards and farms that populate this area with such a charming sense of community. (The other is a diptych "Orchard Village" and "Running Rio" above). This painting shows deeper colors and represents the fall and harvest time of year, the colors are pulling into the painting as opposed to the one above that is pushing out against the edges. I can smell the Hatch chilies roasting when I look at this painting!
